1. Ask Breeder if they health test their Sires and Dams (dog dad, dog mom)
a. health tests include; Echo for heart, hips score, DM (degenerative myopathy) etc.
2. Ask if the Breeder shows their dogs, in conformation, and or rally or obedience
a. I believe this is important, especially conformation, because it keeps the breeder
breeding their dogs true to type. (breeding dogs that look and act like boxers)
3. BYB (Back Yard Breeders) do not care about breeding their dogs to look like
Boxers, they also do not care about health testing.
4. European style Boxer, a lot of BYBs breed this style of dog and lure unsuspecting people
in to buying by saying this kind of Boxer is healthier then the American style, this is not
necessarily true, also saying the American style has a longer nose. (muzzle)
Also, not true if the American bred dog is bred to the standard.
I love talking about Boxers, so don't hesitate to email me, showboxers@gmail.com
I also do training for the show ring and love training all breeds for this. :)
